From the Desk of the Chief Editor
Abstract
It is our great pleasure that the 2nd issue of the 1st volume of Social Science Spectrum is
now ready and is being published. We are especially happy to announce that this is the inaugural
issue having the ISSN tag. Thanks to the untiring efforts of the members of the Society for
Scientific Aptitude, within a short period of time we have been able to publish the journal with
ISSN. A new innings has, indeed, started in our quest towards attaining academic excellence.
This issue contains seven articles, apart from containing one communication under the
category Notes and Commentaries. This issue has, indeed, greater diversity than the inaugural one.
The articles in this issue broadly pertain to the areas of demography, economics, history and
governance; there are papers related to India, comparative country experiences and also pure
theoretical exercises. In the coming months, we hope to receive and publish papers on other areas
of social sciences, notably anthropology, psychology and so on.
We acknowledge our deep gratitude to all the contributors for reposing faith on our journal
and for submission of original, rigorous research papers. Their active cooperation, especially
during the nascent stage of the journal, will go a long way in not only establishing the reputation of
the journal, but also will help us in maintaining the acceptability and credibility of the publication.
It needs to be admitted that there may be teething troubles in the early stages; however, we
shall appreciate constructive suggestions and criticisms from the readers and well wishers and
assure that we shall try to maintain our punctuality and quality.
